What is Peyronie’s Disease? Peyronie’s Disease is an acquired condition characterized by the formation of fibrous scar tissue (plaque) under the skin of the penis. This plaque is not cancerous, but it can cause the penis to curve or lose length during an erection, often making intimacy difficult or painful.

How is it Diagnosed? A physical examination by an experienced clinician is usually sufficient to diagnose Peyronie’s Disease. The hard plaques can typically be felt (palpated) whether the penis is erect or flaccid. In some cases, we may utilize ultrasound to assess the calcification of the plaque

Are There Any Pills That Cure It? Currently, there are no oral medications (pills) proven to cure Peyronie’s Disease.4 While supplements like Vitamin E have been used historically, clinical data suggests they are not effective as a standalone cure. Effective treatment requires targeting the plaque directly.

2. Traction Therapy:

We treat the penis orthopedically. Just as braces straighten teeth, consistent Traction Therapy (using devices like RestoreX) gently stretches the tissue to regain lost length and reduce curvature.

3. Shockwave Therapy:

We may use Shockwave Therapy as an adjunct to manage pain and break down plaque calcification.
